Building opp our hotel

Inside train headed to Tianzifang

Dapuqiao Station, is the nearest station to Tianzifang.

Tianzifang or Tian Zi Fang ( Chinese: 田子坊; pinyin: Tiánzǐfāng) is an arts and crafts enclave that has developed from a renovated residential area in the French Concession area of Shanghai, China. It comprises a neighborhood of labyrinthine alleyways off Taikang Road (Chinese: 泰康路; pinyin: Tàikāng Lù), and is therefore also referred to as Taikang Road or Taikang Lu. Tianzifang is known for small craft stores, coffee shops, trendy art studios and narrow alleys. It has become a popular tourist destination in Shanghai, and an example of preservation of local Shikumen architecture, with some similarities to Xintiandi.

Maps of Tianzifang, with those alleyways..

Yap, hot day!

They always put unique ornaments in front of their shop to attract people 🙂

So cute..

It’s a giant nutcracker.. @.@

We are about the same height.. In fact i am shorther than him, LOL!

You may always spot ornaments on every corner in Tianzifang

I love the streetscape in Shanghai.. With the shades from Sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) trees..

We had our lunch at Yang’s Dumpling.. At the basement of mall opposite Tianzifang.. This stall so crowd and long queue compare than other stall. We never heard about this stall before, but when we went back to our hotel and google about Yang’s Dumpling, oh well they are pretty famous with their Sheng Jian Bao..  Probably this is the best lunch we had in Shanghai and the cheapest lunch we had there.. 🙂

Pork dumpling soup for RMB5 (equal to S$1.3).. Nothing special, but not bad.. The soup really tasty..

Their famous Sheng Jian Bao… 4pcs for RMB4, you can imagine how cheap it is… It taste really tasty and delicious, the meat, the hot soup inside, ohhh.. i miss those bao.. Sheng Jian Bao is a MUST TRY!!! food when you got chance to visit Shanghai… But just be careful, you might get addicted.. Hohoho.. 1 bao about 220kcal.. O.O”

Fish soup for RMB5, tasty and the fishball is homemade..

We came back to Tianzifang for shopping.. The shops layout on left and right of alleyways..

I enjoyed shopping here, even though the price slightly higher than Qipu Lu, but all seems pretty unique and we had a pleasant walkway experience, not too crowded, no rushing, really enjoyed walking here..
