How to DIY Vintage Wedding Reception Display

I love to be inspired and ideas are hanging everywhere, if you are keen you may just grab it easily. Well, i am type of person who put effort into every detail, even some people not easy to understand what am i doing.. Hoho.. But that is creativity.. I am just trying to do my best and still keep on learning.. Well mybe in future i can even earn some bucks from this so called ‘do-it-yourself’ project.. 🙂 All photos taken at my Kuala Lumpur Wedding (Tai Thong Cheras Chinese Restaurant), photography copyright belong to YuniQueYuni blog and SimplyBenji Photography.

Photo hanging on dry branches.. It’s classic, but you can do more variety by adding some crystal

Ferris wheel to put in your pre-wedding photos.. It can be played and have a wedding song, then the ferris wheel will turning following the music.. So cute right? This is second hand item, i bought it from lovely bride.. 🙂

Small birdcage i found it at Hong Kong, the door of birdcage is openable, super cuteee… <3 br="">

I made the wedding guestbook grape vineyard theme, for guests to thumb print (is like signing) the guestbook and put signature on.

Cute display of box, you can just put in your memorabilia items such as wedding invitation as well as your pre-wedding photos.

Put in some bouquet ball, i prefer peachy colour, sweet colour not too striking.Handmade vintage burlap jar.. Bought the scented candles at Ikea and decorate it with burlap and crochet ribbon, put dried flower as an accents.

Another jar for display dried flower i just fill in with paper doilies inside to give something “sweet” look ^.^

Overall display.. Can just put the album for the guest to browse the pre-wedding picture.. Or other wedding album.

Real Red Apples!!! LOL.. Inspired by “Sleeping Beauty”..
And Jar of memorabilia.. 🙂

Pen to sign the wedding guest book made from the feather.

Our wedding souvenir: It’s a couple of bird.. 🙂

I managed to do few hundred origami of paper crane.. Or mybe even a thousand..
Thousand origami cranes (千羽鶴 Senbazuru) is a group of one thousand origami paper cranes (鶴 tsuru) held together by strings. An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane. Some stories believe you are granted eternal good luck, instead of just one wish, such as long life or recovery from illness or injury. This makes them popular gifts for special friends and family. The crane in Japan is one of the mystical or holy creatures (others include the dragon and the tortoise) and is said to live for a thousand years: That is why 1000 cranes are made, one for each year. In some stories it is believed that the 1000 cranes must be completed within one year and they must all be made by the person who is to make the wish at the end. Cranes that are made by that person and given away to another aren’t included: All cranes must be kept by the person wishing at the end.

Vintage box to display photos, put it some dried flower in cute jar, your pre-wedding photos and paper crane origami, as well as light up candle. Lay down some lace and pearl ribbon around the box, to give sweeter look and decorate the box.

You can just put your novelties and memorabilia stuff inside the boxes or any vintage lugagges. On this vintage luggages i put it some items:

1. dried lavender (it’s real lavender), i still able to catch the nice smell of lavender flower.
2. My handmade wedding boutonniere (burlap vintage boutonniere), will share on future post how to DIY it.. 🙂
3. Salt and Pepper of Bride and Groom design, it’s my left over from my Bali Wedding
4. Origami paper crane, you need to fold it yourself.
5. Scented candle (i prefer white colour and vanilla scent), to make decoration more lively.
6. Lace and lace and ribbon, just spread it everywhere..

I call it Jars of Memories.. I am putting all my collective novelty items inside and voilaaa.. become like this.. And i bought some vintage candle holders..
Inspiration comes from my childhood.. Merry Go Round, Shells (i know it’s not enviromental friendly to use shell into accessories), but this shells i collect it during my trip to beaches, including the Sands!!! Haha..

  Burlap.. It’s soo vintage..
dried flower.. Psssttt.. Everytime visiting new places always pick the flower and i flatten it inside my notebook and let it dry..

It’s the candle holder embellished with crystal and handmade white butterflies. Good idea for fairy wedding theme..
