[Travel] Malang & Bromo 3D2N Itinerary – Must Visit Places for Nature Lover

It’s been very long we plan a trip to Bromo and finally decided to spent a week holiday, went back to my hometown and took flight to Malang. It was a very short trip 3 Days and 2 Nights to visit Malang and Bromo.

The main attraction on this trip is definitely Bromo but we had spare 1.5 days to visit other tourist attractions. Please note that this trip was based on my preference to visit more natural places in Malang. If you are looking for manmade tourist attractions (like museum, zoo, amusement park) then you should stop your reading at this point because we have no interest to visit those places. Nevertheless, enjoy the view of Malang and Bromo from the landscape perspective.

DAY 1 – EXPLORING BATU

Omah Kayu

Treehouse resort, you may stay there if you want some adventurous feel while enjoying view of Batu City.

Batu City Viewing Point

Parasailing

DAY 2 – SOUTH COASTAL BEACHES

Morning at Santika Premiere Hotel

During our visit on August, it was very dangerous to swim on the beach due to the rough waves. I found out that it was very windy too, didn’t feel hot at all. Nonetheless the beaches are very clean and nice view.

Pantai Balekambang (Balekambang Beach)

Probably the most visited beaches in Malang, famous with the temple on the cliff, similar to Bali’s Tanah Lot.

Pantai Banyu Meneng and Pantai Selok

Regretted to visit this 2 beaches because it took so long to reach the beach due to the road condition very bad. We found out not much things there and less people visit this place.

Pantai Batu Bengkung (Bengkung Stone Beach)

This is very interesting beach and nicest view above all the earlier beaches we visited. The water is very clear with so many corals surrounding, so the beach line won’t hit directly by the waves. I would say it’s very relaxing to see the sea water come and go.

DAY 3 – BROMO TENGGER SEMERU NATIONAL PARK

Our journey started at 12 midnight from our hotel and reached at 2pm at Plataran Bromo to be picked up by Jeep. The Jeep sent us to Penanjakan 2 at 3pm, they called this area as Bukit King Kong (King Kong Hill) and we waited for sun to arise at about 5.30am.

The old viewing place called Penanjakan 1 is further up and not recommended by our tour guide because the area is quite narrow and too crowded. Bukit King Kong is crowded too, but there are a lot of spots for viewing because the area is very wide opened.

Without further ado, please enjoy the view of Mount Bromo!

Bukit Kingkong

Pasir Berbisik (Whispering Sands)

Journey to Savannah..

The Savannah

We skipped the last destination: Bromo Crater because we were told that the view there not as great as the rest of the places we’ve visited and you have to climb the steps.

Lembah Widodaren (Widodaren Valley)

So i spent my time to ride the horse, well actually to take the photo only with Bromo and Batok Mount as background.

BEST TIME TO VISIT?

The absolute best time to visit Mount Bromo is at sunrise. As for the season to visit – plan to visit Mount Bromo during the dry season. The dry season in Java, where Mount Bromo is located, is between April to October. During this time, May to August are the best months with the chance of least rain. (Source: www. indonesiad.com/java-travel-musts-hike-the-majestic-mount-bromo/)

Surprisingly temperature at Malang is cooling in early August when we visited with the temperature range from 27-18 degrees and Bromo area is even cooler with the temperature can even hit to 7 degrees in the early morning before sunrise.

HOW TO GO BROMO?

Via Surabaya for international flights. Surabaya to Bromo took around 4 hours.

Via Malang for domestic flights from major cities in Indonesia. I prefer Malang because i came from Jakarta during my visit. Malang to Bromo took around 2 hours.

In the future if i would like to visit Bromo again i would take Surabaya route because there are a lot of direct flight from Singapore to Surabaya.

Thanks Bromo for showing your beauty, next time i’ll be back for you again, for Ijen Crater and Semeru Mountain.

XOXO,

YuniQueYuni
