Penang is always a popular getaway destination, we decided Hard Rock Hotel  as our weekend getaway in Penang this time. This upscale, music-themed resort strategically located at Batu Ferringhi , fronting the Beach along the Andaman Sea is 16 km from the island’s capital, George Town, and 33 km from the Penang International Airport.

Arriving at hotel you can’t miss the iconic Hard Rock guitar sculpture.

The hotel has alot of F&B to offer in their six Food & Beverage establishments, including the world famous Hard Rock Cafe, an all-day dining restaurant known as Starz Diner, a Pizzeria by the poolside, The Shack swim-up pool bar and the Lobby Bar, offering favourite local and international delicacy and cuisines.

The Hard Rock Cafe

The cafe is newly renovated cafe last year and displayed some memorabilias. The setting is cozy for the diner while enjoying the food and the music.

The story of the birth of Hard Rock International’s memorabilia collection is itself a part of music history. The collection was started when Eric Clapton, a regular customer at the original Hard Rock Cafe London, asked the staff if he could hang his guitar on the wall to mark his favourite bar stool as “his spot.”

Hard Rock International is the world’s original curator of music memorabilia with the most far-reaching collection. check out more than 500 pieces of unparalleled rock n’ roll memorabilia from both local and international artists adorning the walls of the Hard Rock Hotel Penang.

Rock Royalty Lounge

We staying at Poolview Deluxe room with VIP welcome amenities and Rock Royalty Lounge Access.  We can express check in and check out at The Rock Royalty Lounge, and unlimited lounge visit with free flow of non-alcoholic drinks. They also serve breakfast at the Rock Royalty and there is also high-tea served in afternoon, as well as evening of canapés and cocktail while watching the sun setting.

The Room – Poolview Deluxe

Our room facing towards the pool and facing the sea. The room is very spacious and decorated with music theme. 

The balcony at our Poolview Deluxe room offer amazing view toward the Adaman Sea. The balcony is spacious and become our favorite spot of hotel enjoying the view in breezy weather.

The Pool

Featuring the largest free-form pool in Northern Malaysia, this will be endless fun activities going on for all type of travelers. For family with kids there are entertaiment such as 3 cool water slides, ball games, table tennis  at pool side. There is also tube and private cabana for rental if you opt for some private time lounging in cabana or floating on water. While swimming under water, there is pleasant surprise which you can hear underwater music! The Rock Gym at poolside  equipped  with Technogym to offer you sleek, innovative training systems .

Being one of the coolest family-oriented resort, Hard Rock Penang cater the needs of teenager, young child and toddler at their TABU Teens Club,  Roxity Kids Club™ and Lil’ Rockers Infants Club , these clubs promise they will never get bored with the amenities for the teen to explode the potential and little one be kept busy with educational toys & games, soft toys, mini playhouse and a mini slide.

The Dinner and Breakfast

For hotel guest, you can choose to have breakfast and dinner at all-day dining restaurant  Starz Diner with wide range food selection from local and international buffet. Fresh seafood and sushi sections are our favorite besides the local cuisines.  

We also find Pizzeria by the poolside a cozy place for breakfast, we enjoy the lesser crowd with breezy wind from beach while having breakfast from buffet.

The Sand Bar

The Sand Bar, located by the Pizzeria, this rustic beach bar is a perfect place for catching spectacular sunset overlooks a stunning sunset.

One the the popular photo spot is at the bridge across the swimming pools, connecting to Batu Ferringhi beach.

Strolling along the Batu Ferringhi beach and walk along the jetty under the perfect sky.

The Lagoon Pool

The pool set among the lush tropical landscape.

Dipping into refreshing pool after a long day of sightseeing and shopping in the bustling George Town. This activity is one of the most enjoyable time of our stay.

Rejuvenate your body and soul at the Award winning Rock Spa® . At the spa you can have your own private villas by the sea while doing the  treatments. You also can have option to have indoor spa treatment with your favourite music throughout the treatments.

Rock Spa offers a diverse selection of services such as massages, body scrubs, body wraps, facials, manicure & pedicure and hair removal with a full host of amenities.

We preferred outdoor spa for a different experience.

The spa villas are well-designed for privacy and come with outdoor shower and bath tub among the tropical garden.  It’s perfect for much needed rejuvenation.

We tried their signature body massage and it was such a relaxing experience. Have the treatment while enjoying nature sound: the birds chirping and the sea waves as well as the breezy winds.
