One night at Ocean Dreams felt like stepping into another world — falling asleep with manta rays gliding by, sharks cruising through the deep blue, and thousands of marine creatures putting on a silent show right in front of our bed. Yunnan with a Toddler: Things We Learned 🇨🇳👶🏻 If you’re planning a family trip to Yunnan with a little one, here are a few tips that made our journey much smoother: ✨ Take everything slowly Yunnan isn’t a destination to rush. Reaching many attractions often involves shuttle buses, walking, stairs, or even light hikes. Plan extra time for everything. 🏔️ Start with Dali → Lijiang → Shangri-La Gradually increasing your altitude gives your body more time to adjust, especially if you’re coming from Singapore or other low-altitude countries. 🚗 Prepare for long drives Many scenic spots are spread out, so expect quite a bit of time on the road. Motion sickness medication can be a lifesaver for both adults and kids. 👟 Pack for lots of walking Comfortable shoes are a must. There will be areas where you’ll need to carry your toddler or navigate uneven paths. 💨 Respect the altitude Listen to your body and don’t push through discomfort. We packed portable oxygen, altitude medication, and glucose drinks just in case. Rest whenever needed. 🧸 Follow your toddler’s pace Some days can be packed with sightseeing, but leave room for slower days too. A flexible itinerary makes the trip much more enjoyable for everyone. 💛 The best Yunnan memories weren’t always the attractions Sometimes it was the unplanned breaks, slow walks, and quiet moments taking in the mountains together.
