[Travel] Staycation at Artotel Thamrin Jakarta

I know that i’ve been procastinating so long for my few travel post. I am owing on my Taiwan trip travel as well as Lombok Trip. Those are still on my draft, i will definitely sharing those one day.. I promise, one day.. Lol!

So here we go, without further ado let’s enjoy the pictorial review of my staycation at Artotel Thamrin Jakarta, during my New Year holiday.

Heard about this hotel from few friends and they highly recommended this for a short stay at Jakarta. At first, a bit hesitate to book this hotel, as somehow we can’t expect too much when we book for hotel with very cheap price at Agoda. In the end i choosed ARTOTEL instead of Kosenda Hotel which initially i would like to book.
But anyway, nothing to lose, it was our last day at Jakarta. I don’t expect too much, and most of the times we will be out for sightseeing and meeting friends.

From the building facade itself, you can tell that this hotel is very artsy, yup! inside hotel is really full of artwork.

Located in the city center of Jakarta, ARTOTEL Thamrin – Jakarta collaborates with 8 talented Indonesian emerging artists that represent each floor with different concept, style, and design of the art. Every detail in the hotel is designed with precision from facade of the building into the interior of the room that represents the originality of the overall design with the intention to embrace the experience of ARTOTEL.
When first time entering ARTOTEL Thamrin lobby, we both said “Wow”, is really beyond expectation. The place is new, very artsy and cozy. The receptionist was very friendy amd really helpful. Actually that time we arrived quite early and had to wait about approx 2hr for the room to be ready. Usual check in time is 2pm btw. But we don’t mind to wait at their cozy RoCA cafe. The place is really hip with modern deco and we saw lots of youngsters hanging around there.

This hotel located at Jalan Sunda, it’s just behind Thamrin area. It’s very convenient place to stay. Actually you can even walk from ARTOTEL to Plaza Indonesia and Grand Indonesia (if you dare too!), but i recommended to take taxi to be safe, it’s just about Rp 20,000 (S$2) to get to the nearest mall.

My love for spiral staircase..

Artwork installation at lobby.

The beauty of spiral staircase..

RoCA cafe is a good place to take OOTD. I wasn’t the only one taking OOTD there..

The room itself have a different concept on every floor depend on the artist in charge. Every floor decorated with painting or artwork from talented local artist.
3rd floor is CHALK CRAZE designed by Zaky Arifin. This exceptional artist used chalk to draw his artworks on the 3rd Floor. “Have a wild dream” is Zaky Arifin tagline, interpreted by wild animals drawings in each and every room.
Our room at level 3 happen to be the monochrome concept, with the chalk painting on the wall and bare smooth concrete on the rest of the wall. Love this!
And there is complimentary latte on the table, self serving with dolce gusto coffee machine.

Love this monochrome toiletries.. Can you see those quote on the cover.

“Have a wild dream…” —- Yes i will!

We had a chance to meet my bff at Grand Indonesia and had our dinner at Mad for Garlic.

We ordered Pizza, Pasta, Rice, hmmm kinda all carbo.

But this Carbonara is so yummy!

This is not bad too!

Me and my bff.

After that we had our dessert at Churreria. Churros is really hip now!

Red velvet churros.

Mixed berry churros.

This hotel rated as 3 star probably because they don’t have the swimming pool. But from the facility itself this hotel is pretty decent and worth the price you paid.

Pssstt, with the price you paid, it’s include complimentary breakfast too.. And their breakfast is super yummy!
On second day stay at this hotel we explore the hotel while waiting our evening flight. I always get obsessed with spiral staircase, they are beautiful!
And some artworks installation here and there. Cool Christmas tree at the lobby. Bare concrete art.. Aaaaa, i love this hotel so much!
While waiting for Bart rooftop bar open at 4pm, we had our dessert and coffee at RoCa, we ordered nuttella with bread and iced capucinno for hubby.
We also made a visit to their rooftop bar BaRt, it’s at the 7th floor of the hotel. The place is sooooperrrr cozy and relax ambience! Highly recommended! And the food and drinks there very good with still reasonable price. Favourite place to hang out, with comfy sofa,  rustic deco and some greenery in between. I really love the monotone colour palette of this place: black, white and brown from the wood with the greenery contrast.

From this breezy rooftop bar, you also can enjoy Jakarta view. Don’t expect like the view from SKYE, of course. But anyway it’s really enjoyable experience hang around at this rooftop bar.

We ordered mocktails and truffle fries.

Gloomy day.. but it was ok as long as not rain.

Love the outdoor furniture here.. So cozy!

So i would definitely stay at Artotel again everytime i visit Jakarta. Rather than staying at expensive 5 star hotel with not so good service. So don’t judge the book from its cover, even tho the hotel is pretty cheap it doesn’t mean the service and place not good. Learnt a lesson! But… Pls read review and google first before you decide to stay at one place.
